Who gets a 75% registration fee concession in the CA course?

ICAI gives a 75% registration fee concession to 2 student categories: students from J&K, Ladakh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the 8 North-Eastern states, and wards of deceased ICAI members.

  • Regional students: The 8 North-Eastern states are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. ICAI started this concession on 20 September 2019. ICAI has renewed it for enrolments up to 31 March 2028. It applies to Foundation, Intermediate, and Final.
  • Wards of deceased members: ICAI started this concession on 1 April 2022. It requires a family annual income of ₹5 lakh or less. Students upload an attested death certificate, ICAI membership proof of the deceased parent, an identity proof, and an income declaration.

A CA Intermediate student with the concession pays ₹4,500 of the ₹18,000 registration fee. The concession covers the registration fee only. The exam form fee and other charges are paid in full.

How to register for CA Intermediate online?

ICAI registers CA Intermediate students through the Self-Service Portal (SSP) at eservices.icai.org in 8 steps. Foundation route and Direct Entry students follow the same sequence. Only the route selection in Step 2 differs.

  1. Log in to the SSP with ICAI student credentials. Direct Entry applicants without an account register as first-time users, then verify the mobile number or email ID with an OTP.
  2. Select the student cycle. Foundation route students choose “Intermediate through Foundation”. Direct Entry students choose “Intermediate (Direct Entry)”.
  3. Verify the auto-filled details. Direct Entry applicants enter full name, gender, marital status, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, and degree details. Click “Save and Next”.
  4. Upload scanned copies of the original qualification documents.
  5. Choose the study material medium and the group option. Single group carries a ₹11,000 registration fee. Both groups carry a ₹15,000 registration fee.
  6. Upload the photograph and signature within the file size limits shown on the SSP. [VERIFY SIZES]
  7. Pay the registration fee online.
  8. Submit the form with the OTP and CAPTCHA text. ICAI verifies and approves the submission.

Which documents are required for CA Intermediate registration?

ICAI requires 3 document sets: route-based qualification documents, a photograph with signature, and category or nationality proofs.

  • Foundation route: attested Class 12 mark sheet or equivalent, and the CA Foundation pass statement.
  • Direct Entry route: attested graduation or postgraduation mark sheets, or CS Executive or CMA Intermediate pass certificates.
  • All candidates: one recent colour photograph and a scanned signature.
  • Foreign nationals: attested proof of nationality.
  • Special categories (SC, ST, OBC, disability): attested category certificate.
