CS Course Overview
It is a professional course offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The profession has its main focus on Corporate law and governance. It is divided into three levels – CSEET, CS Executive, and CS Professional, along with 21 21-month internship. While the CSEET exams are conducted 4 times a year in January, May, July, and November, the CS Executive and CS Professional exams are conducted twice a year – June & December.
Course stages
The course is divided into three levels :
(a) Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) – 4 months
(b) CS Executive – 9 months
(c) Internship – 21 months
(d) CS Professional - 10 months
Duration
The Company Secretary course typically takes 3 to 3.5 years to complete for students starting after their 12th standard or equivalent. For graduates, the duration can be around 2 to 2.5 years, excluding the mandatory training period
Eligibility for the Company Secretary Course
The CS course begins with the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test), which is open to students who have passed or are appearing for their 12th standard exams. It is structured into three levels.
Graduates can begin directly from the CS Executive level without appearing for the CSEET.

Registration Process
To register for the course :
o Login to icsi.edu
o Navigate to Student > Registration for Executive Programme (Direct)
o Before proceeding to the registration form, make sure to have the softcopy of the documents mentioned below :
(Also, the guidelines mentioning the file type and size should be followed)
o Click on “Proceed to Registration”
o Fill up the Basic Information and Address details
o Note Unique ID for future reference
o Fill up Father/Spouse name and Mother’s name, and also qualification details
o Fill the source of Information and check the fee details
o Upload the required documents and submit the declaration
o On successful payment, candidates will be registered for the Executive Programme and same will be informed through email/SMS on their registered email ID/mobile number. The Executive Registration number will be used as a user ID for login.
