How to Order ICAI Study Material Using the CDS Portal

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has streamlined the process of obtaining study material by introducing the Centralized Distribution System (CDS) portal. This portal ensures that students and members can easily order the latest study resources directly to their doorstep.  

Once a student gets registered for the respective level (Foundation, Intermediate or Final), their details are trandefresrred to the CDS portal and the student gets a coupon whereby they can order the ICAI study material. The cost of study materials re included in the registration fees. Therefore, students can purchase the materials free of cost by applying the coupons.

The validity of the coupons is as follows :

On exhaustion of the validity of the coupons, students will have to pay for the required study materials

STEPS TO ORDER STUDY MATERIALS THROUGH CDS PORTAL (icai-cds.org)

Step 1: Wait for Registration Confirmation

• After registering for any ICAI course (Foundation, Intermediate, or Final), your registration data is transferred to the CDS portal.
• You will receive an email notification with your login credentials once your registration is confirmed by the ICAI. This message will include your user ID (SRN) and a default password (usually your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format).

Step 2: Log In to the CDS Portal

• Visit the official ICAI CDS portal: https://icai-cds.org
• Use the credentials provided in the email to log in.

Step 3: Select Your Course and Study Material

• Click on the “Students” menu at the top left and choose your respective course (Foundation, Intermediate, or Final).
• Browse the available study material for your course and select the required subjects or complete kit. You can choose the medium (English or Hindi) as per your preference.

Step 4: Add to Cart and Apply Coupon

• Add the selected study materials to your cart.
• Click on the basket icon (usually at the top right) to review your selection.
• Proceed to checkout. If you are a newly registered student, a coupon for free study material (valid for a specific period based on your course) will be automatically activated in your account.

Step 5: Place the Order

• Redeem your coupon at checkout. For your first order, both the material and courier charges are covered by the coupon.
• Confirm your delivery address and submit the order.
• After the coupon is exhausted, future orders will require payment of courier charges.

Step 6: Track Your Order

• You can track the dispatch status of your order through the portal.
• Usually the delivery takes place within 12 working days.
