Cost and Management accounting facilitates in planning, controlling and monitoring the price and cost of service or product. CMA evaluates the efficiency of production as well as service management and operational efficiency by collection, compilation, organization, verification and analysis of information from various departments of an organization. CMA is a golden benchmark for management accountants.

CMA Foundation

CMA Foundation is the entrance level for CMA course. Any student who completed 10th or 12th can appear for CMA Foundation. 4 papers are included in this stage:

  • Paper 1 - Fundamentals of Economics and Management
  • Paper 2 - Fundamentals of Accounting
  • Paper 3 - Fundamental of Laws and Ethics
  • Paper 4 - Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics

CMA Intermediate

CMA Intermediate consists of 2 groups of 4 papers each and the exams are conducted twice in a year.

Group I

  • Paper 1- Financial Accounting
  • Paper 2- Laws, Ethics and Governance
  • Paper 3- Direct Taxation
  • Paper 4- Cost Accounting and Financial Management


Group II

  • Paper 5 - Operation Management Information System
  • Paper 6 - Cost and Management Accounting
  • Paper 7 - Indirect Taxation
  • Paper 8 - Company Accounts and Audit

CMA Final

CMA Final consists of 2 groups of 4 papers each.

Group III

  • Paper 1 –Corporate Laws & Compliance (CLC)
  • Paper 2 – Strategic Financial Management (SFM)
  • Paper 3 – Strategic Cost Management – Decision Making (SCMD)
  • Paper 4 – Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation (DIT)

Group IV

  • Paper 5 – Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR)
  • Paper 6 – Indirect Tax Laws and Practice (ITP)
  • Paper 7 – Cost and Management Audit (CMAD)
  • Paper 8 – Strategic Performance Management and (SPBV) Business Valuation

CMAS are driving force in all economic activities and has a great demand in all sectors including government, private , banking, education and so on. CMAs can work as Managing director, Finance director, Finance controller, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Internal Auditor etc. Not just in India, CMA has a wide scope in other countries too.

Any student who has completed 10th or 12th can appear for CMA foundation exams. Graduation in any stream other than arts is exempted from CMA foundation exams. Such students can directly enrol into CMA Intermediate. Students are required to complete the computer training and soft skills training. Students who have successfully completed CMA Intermediate can apply CMA Final.
